Sian Cullen

I’m Sian Cullen, the owner of Sputnik Seattle and the creator of Smart-Arse Gear for the radical, curious human.

I love my craft and approach my work with passion, confidence, and a discerning eye. My inspirations span fashion, art, music, books, and nature. I’m all about cool vibes, love, humor, joy, and justice for all!

With over 30 years of industry experience, I've had the privilege of collaborating with some of Seattle’s top stylists, including Keith Funai and Rory McGowan at Coupe Rokei. Trained in razor cutting at Bumble and Bumble in New York, I’ve also spent several seasons creating wigs and makeup for the Seattle Opera.

Over a decade ago, I set out to create a salon with attitude and allure, inspired by a space theme. The name Sputnik resonated with me, because the idea of going into orbit felt so expansive. And just like that, Sputnik hit the Earth’s atmosphere and I’ve been exploring this New Frontier ever since.
