Hello, I’m the owner of Sputnik Hair Studio.
My studies began way back when at Seattle Central Cosmetology on Capitol Hill and I have been in my profession for over 30 years now.
I started out by joining Keith Funai and Rory McGowan at Coupe Rokei and completed a 2 year apprenticeship program with them. I had amazing teachers at Coupe Rokei and was very lucky to be around some of the best stylists in Seattle.
I’ve worked several seasons with the Seattle Opera doing wigs and makeup. Some wonderful memorable moments was doing photoshoots with my team at Coupe Rokei where we got to play and have fun.
I had the opportunity to take Razor classes in New York with Bumble and Bumble for many years and again got to learn from some of the best teachers in our industry. I am proficient at razor cutting and it’s my favourite tool!
Six years ago I branched out on my own and opened Sputnik, a salon based on attitude, allure, and ambition to create awesome hairstyles while maintaining high standards with regards to health and the environment.

What you might want to know about me
I love my craft, and I love that I can have fun doing hair. I am Inspired by Fashion, Art, Magazines, Music, Books, and Nature. Pretty much anywhere I can see shapes, colour and feel passion from others. I am passionate about my work and my industry and I work hard with a discerning eye.
I continue to take classes from Pony Education and also from teachers that come through Seattle.

How Sputnik got it’s name
When I stepped into my studio, the first thing I saw out my window was the infamous 53ft rocket in Fremont.
Fremont is know as the CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE, so there are many space names here. I’m in a building called The Saturn and the sister building is called the Space Building, so I decided I wanted a space name. I put a text out to my family and both my Dad, and my husband came back with Sputnik. Say no more, I loved it—Sputnik Hair Studio was born.
